This is work I've done in a 3d modeling class for my BFA degree. It is a contemporary take on the traditional vanitas idea made popular during the Renaissance in northern Europe. The idea is to depict the symbolism of the presence of birth, the fealty of pleasure, and the inevitability of death. My take is depicting some symbolism involving PTSD. The idea came to me while I was listening to the news and the invasion of Ukraine and what the soldiers are going through on the frontlines and what they are missing and how they will deal with the trauma once they come home.
